Safety on Anihood

Safe by default

• Minimum age 13. Your birthday is checked at sign-up and kept private.
• Direct messages are friends-only. Nobody can message you until you have both accepted a friend request. There are no unsolicited messages from strangers.
• No exact location. Anihood shows your city or neighbourhood and an approximate distance (such as ~4 km), never your position. See Privacy.
• Not a dating app. Matches are about anime only. Age, gender and appearance are never used to rank people.

Blocking

Block anyone from their profile or from a chat message. Blocking removes the friendship, hides them from your map lists, chats and search, and stops them from messaging you. They are not told. Manage blocked people in Settings → Blocked users.

Reporting

You can report a user, a single message or a whole chat. Reports are private. Choose the closest reason:

• Harassment or bullying
• Sexual content
• Risk to a minor
• Spam or scam
• Untagged spoilers
• Something else

Messages that several people report are hidden automatically while our team reviews them. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first, then email safety@anihood.app.

Muting

Mute any conversation to stop its unread badges without leaving it.

Spoiler protection

Chats have two spoiler shields. A sender can mark a message as a spoiler, which covers it for everyone until they tap it. A sender can also tag the episode a message is about. A message tagged “episode 12” stays covered for anyone whose portfolio says they are on an earlier episode, and opens normally once they catch up or complete the anime. Replies carry the original message's cover, so quoting can never leak a spoiler.

Meeting people

Local groups are places to talk. If you decide to meet other fans, meet in public, tell someone where you are going, and never share your home address in a chat. If you are under 18, involve a parent or guardian.
